Assalamu Alaikum Wr.Wb.
First, let us give thanks to the presence of Allah SWT, who has bestowed many blessings on all of us, shalawat and greetings hopefully bestowed upon our lord the prophet Muhammad saw, along with his family, friends, and to, all of us, amien….
Please allow me to express my gratitude to the Fatahillah Education Foundation, Jakarta, which has entrusted the task of chairman of STIE Indonesia Jakarta to me. I realize that this task is very difficult, and this task is also a mandate from Allah SWT. So that, God willing, I must carry it out as well as possible and with full responsibility and based 3 main principles, namely integrity, professionalism, and togetherness. Whoever bears this responsibility, of course, it is impossible to succeed without the support of all of us, for that on this occasion I ask for the support of the entire academic community of STIE Indonesia Jakarta so that the strategies and steps for activities that will be carried out in the future can deliver STIE Indonesia Jakarta is one of a number of experts in education and research in the economic field who are able to prepare competent and qualified human resources and are able to compete both at for the national and international levels.
One of the main problems facing the Indonesian nation today is the high unemployment rate, around 8 to 9 million people are still unemployed, and every year according to estimates the number of incoming labor force amounts to around 2 to 2.5 million people, while every 1% of economic growth will only be able to create jobs or absorb a workforce of 200-250 thousand people. Thus, if Indonesia's economic growth is targeted at 6.5%, it means that the total workforce will only be absorbed by 1.3 to 1.5 million people, so there will be an additional unemployment of 1 million people per year. This condition is exacerbated by data showing that the average percentage of unemployment rate for college graduates is much higher and tends to increase compared to graduates from high school or junior high school. This suggests that competition in the job market, especially among university graduates, will be increasingly stringent and the job market will increasingly require graduates who are highly skilled and highly competitive in their fields.
For this reason, STIE Indonesia Jakarta in the future must be able to provide quality higher education in economics, especially accounting and management through a teaching and learning process that emphasizes "learning to learn, learning to work and think critically and be able to solve problems with various case studies. Besides that, quality applied economics research needs to be continuously improved, and coaching and development of lecturers at the Masters and Doctoral levels of education need to be continued. Likewise, fostering lecturer and student relations through creative activities and activities needs to be continuously encouraged to achieve Academic Excellence.
The above steps will be realized by developing two external and internal strategies. External Development, namely by improving the image of STIE Indonesia Jakarta outside (corporate image) and increasing the competitiveness of STIE Indonesia Jakarta through various activities such as public seminars, establishing partnerships with various companies, holding executive forums for lecturers and practitioners in companies, and improving good relations with related government institutions, increasing collaboration and comparative studies with universities both domestically and abroad to absorb various things that can improve the performance of STIE Indonesia Jakarta in the future. It is hoped that STIE Indonesia Jakarta will be increasingly recognized and can increase its competitiveness so that alumni will more easily enter the world of work. In turn, STIE Indonesia Jakarta can increase its contribution to the world of education nationally.
Meanwhile, internal development also needs to be carried out, among others by:
1) Improving the image of STIE Indonesia Jakarta inward, namely increasing the accuracy and speed of service to students using IT and trying to improve campus facilities and infrastructure to encourage increased campus comfort and safety which can support a conducive teaching and learning process for students.
2) Consistent and continuous development of human resources and employees needs to be carried out in line with changes in the STIE Indonesia Jakarta organization, development should be carried out starting from the top level to the lowest level of employees throughout all parts of the STIE Indonesia Jakarta organization.
3) Likewise, consistent and continuous development of lecturers must continue to follow the changes and development of knowledge and technology including the development of practical applicative knowledge, especially in the field of accounting and management, while continuing to apply and develop the three pillars of higher education, so that it is hoped that there will be a balanced growth between academic abilities and practical skills in the teaching and learning process at STIE Indonesia Jakarta.
Various strategies and steps that will be taken in the future to bring STIE Indonesia Jakarta to a better, more advanced direction will not be implemented properly if it is not accompanied by an increase in our shared welfare, for this reason, the growth of STIE Indonesia Jakarta that we want to accelerate must be followed by welfare growth. lecturers and employees so that there is a balance between the two. It is hoped that there will be a strong synergy to encourage the faster development of STIE Indonesia Jakarta in the future.
That is the greeting that we can convey, apologize, thank you
Wabillahi Taufik wal hidayah, wassalamualaikum wr wb.
